Nightshade
Surface roll of intaglio plate
This is a surface roll print of a plate a plate I originally etched in 2005. I added aquatint in 2010. An early aquatint experiment, I probably left the plate in the acid too long, and the lightly etched lines of the original image were largely obscured. Printing via surface roll produced more interesting results than the usual intaglio process.
These are unique print images made using handmade stamps. Some have been additionally treated with watercolor, colored pencil and collage elements. These works date to the late 1990s.

I’ve been thinking of looking into the The Gowanus Studio Space. Could be a good chance to do some more printmaking.
